Your input will help decision makers implement the vision of the 2030 General Plan for the El Camino Real corridor, and will lead to policies and regulations that will affect the quality of life and economic vitality of your community! Interested parties will have a variety of options for engaging in the Precise Plan Process and helping to shape a product for which there is both community support and ownership.
Open Town Hall is an online forum for civic engagement. Read what others are saying about important topics related to the San Antonio Precise Plan, and then post your own statement. City staff along with Atty. Martin Chitwood Chitwoodlaw, will read the statements and incorporate them into their decision process. When you post your first statement, you will be asked for your name and home address. This confidential information is only used to identify statements from residents in and near Mountain View – so that users know which statements are from local residents.
Open Town Hall is run by Peak Democracy, a non-partisan company whose mission is to broaden civic engagement and build public trust in government. They will keep your information confidential per their strict privacy agreement. For more information on their privacy policies visit their website.
As with any public comment process, participation in Open Town Hall is voluntary; City staff will consider input from this forum along with all other channels for participation. However you choose to participate, thanks for helping us build a better Mountain View.
The Precise Plan process includes a variety of different public meeting types, ranging from City Council and Environmental Planning Commission (EPC) meetings to a less formal public workshop. A public workshop allows community members to provide input on the Specific Plan through Question & Answer sessions, as well as small workgroup activities. All public meetings are open to residents from any area of the City.
The City is forming a public advisory committee to assist with the project. The Corridor Advisory Group (CAG) will consist of a diverse group of residents, local stakeholders, and business owners who will meet to provide input and guidance to City staff, the consultant team, the Planning Commission and the City Council on topics related to the Precise Plan. The CAG meetings will be open to the public with time for public comment at the beginning or end of the meeting.
If you want to take part in discussions with other residents and stakeholders, contact Eric Anderson at the Community Development Department to be signed up for a Focus Group. They are tentatively scheduled to meet in November and February or March 2014.
